Post Draft Rankings: "Bills so big, I call 'em Williams, for real - Drake"
First and foremost hats off to the most progressive Commissioner for any 3 on 3 league in the metro area. He is single handedly disrupting how teams will draft in the future.
Now down to business. Since there was a different draft format there will be a new post draft rankings format, no bias, no favoritism only bipartisanship.
The rankings are going to based off of the players “Average Draft Position” of the team. I took last seasons draft and associated that player with the round he was drafted in. For example Druk went round 2 last season so his number would be 2. Since the captains last session didn’t have a draft round I had to go back 2 or even 3 sessions when they were in the player pool(Example: Gator round 1 from Spring of 2017).
For the Excel guys out there - Sum of the 5 players rounds divided by 5. If you want my spreadsheet with all the calculations email me and i’ll send it your way.
1-tie. YELLOW(2.2 ADP) - Captain Tommy had the 4th pick in the draft and might have had the steal of the draft when the pairing of TJ and Druk fell to him. Solid team overall with a combination of big bodies and speed. Tied for the lowest average draft position with a round of 2.2.
1-tie. BLACK (2.2 ADP) - Going with the strategy of choosing the best player available, Tyler wound up choosing 4 forwards and 0 defense. But with a very low ADP of 2.2 his team should be competitive this season. I overheard someone asked Way if his groin was back to 100% he responded with “Chyeah”. Good sign for Black.
3. GREEN (2.4 ADP) - Led by the lead singer of Chester Bay(go to Spotify and put their album on repeat) this team has hands down the best team on paper BUT numbers do not lie. This team has a middle of the road ADP with a late second round average per player. I’m salivating at the thought of the boz/volk(return of the robin possible pairing) d combo though.
4. BLUE (2.6 ADP) - Brand aka No More Mr Nice guy aka I’m going to Lose to everyone in the Punching Bag Game has drafted a team that might win the attendance award, but it for sure will not win the beer drinking award. Expect this team to dangle look off teammates and muck it up infront of the net with their big bodies. But mostly try and avoid the hook machine… *whispers kopesky*
5. ORANGE(2.8 ADP) - YIKES. Almost a full round difference between the top two teams. Hockert had the hardest position in the draft which is the back to back picks. Drafting two players that haven’t played in a full session might cause this team to start a little rusty but with Philly holding down the backend he might have to play a little more physical than normal.
