Week 7: The statistics they didn't want you to see.

This year has been a little different in the statistics area. We over at the GM Office have been keeping weekly statistics of goals scored for players and goals allowed per goalies, instead of a running total like the previous seasons.

Since data is power it is not fair for ‘us’ to keep it hidden from you. Every week Mikey misses writing power rankings he said he would do, I will post some analytics.

But this week’s analytics is Consistency aka Standard Deviation.

Standard deviation is a number used to tell how measurements for a group are spread out from the average (mean), or expected value. A low standard deviation means that most of the numbers are close to the average. A high standard deviation means that the numbers are more spread out.

TLDR: Hockert has a low SD because his weekly goals are 3-3-4-2-3 which means he is always very close to his average. Interpretation - consistent.
